I’m a momma of 3 children. Two of my own (E,B) and one wonderful step bonus son (K). DH and I are both teachers in the same district, he teaches high school, and I am a 2nd grade teacher. We live in a little town in the middle of nowhere, but this city girl doesn’t mind! (DH takes me BIG city shopping a couple times a year and MID city shopping whenever we can devote a day to it. I’ll just admit right now online shopping is wonderful!)
I have always enjoyed crafting, even from the time I was very young. I believe I painted a certain bookshelf in my room at least once a year to match my (then) current style. Unfortunately that particular bookshelf bit the dust a long time ago, or rather, couldn’t be “saved” from all the LAYERS of paint I added over the years. But it lasted until I was 26, so that says something!
In 2006 my daughter E was born, and since that time I haven’t stopped crafting. I love scrapbooking, making hair bows, painting on canvas, painting wood signs, making wreaths, woodwork, you name it! When my son B was born in 2008, I of course had to make him all new decor for his room! After all, I had made everything for his sister, so you know, to be “fair….” I *had* to! 😉 It was then I realized I’m pretty good at this stuff. I have the first two paintings I made for his room, and since I’ve managed to create 80% of the artwork that hangs on the walls in our house. Lol!
In 2011, I was encouraged by my husband and friends to “start my own business” but I was hesitant. I didn’t want the adventure to become a “job,” I wanted to be able to craft and create because I love to, not because I *had* to. After more urging from friends and family, in 2012, The Crafty Apple was born. In 2013, I became Facebook official, and my crafty creations have taken off from there!
